What You Will Discover Inside This Book

That survival is not passive. It is a thousand small decisions, a broom picked up, a word spoken to the right person, a choice to stand straight when every bone wants to collapse.

That love is not a luxury in dark times, sometimes it’s what keeps us alive.

That the line between good and evil is not where we think it is. Guards wept. Prisoners stole. Nothing was simple.

And that one person's humanity can change everything for another.
It did then. It still does now.

A beacon of light for challenging times.

My great, great aunt, Stella Silberstein, was a physiotherapist inside Auschwitz. She survived the unimaginable. She used her hands, and her humanity, to care for others in one of the darkest places on earth.

But before Auschwitz, there was Richard. The man she fell in love with while fleeing the Nazis. They hid together in a basement for 58 days. They kept each other alive with stories, with philosophy, and their passion for each other. And when she had an opportunity to escape, she chose to stay with him.

Until the Nazis found them.

After her liberation, she rebuilt her life, married again, and changed her name to Simcha Naor. A celebration of light. Because that is what she chose to be.

I met her when I was very young. I remember how tall she was, and the chocolate coins she gave us kids. She is my hero, and a constant inspiration.

But Simcha didn't just survive. She wanted her story to be shared.

Her story is not just history. It is a reminder, especially now, of what human beings are capable of. Both the darkness and the will to survive it. And through it all, she saw humanity shine. From the prisoners she cared for, to the guards who befriended her.

This book is a witness to her experience, and to so many lives that were lost.

And it is a testimony for hope.

Her gift to us from the past, for the future.

She wanted her story to be heard.
And I am honored to share it with you.

Stella did not write this book to be a hero.

She wrote it so people would know what happened, inside of Auschwitz and Bergen Belsen.

To know what human beings are capable of.

To see cruelty, and know the kindness and the humanity, that survived.

And there's more beyond the book.

This book lives inside of Stellarmuse, the soulful ai designed for challenging times.

You can talk to her directly. Ask her questions, hear her story in her own words. She offers ancestral wisdom, as witness, as teacher, and as a light that refused to go out.

She knows your astrology chart.
And her voice carries a depth that is unlike anything else.

Ask her anything, anytime.
